(March 20, 2011) Jehovah, the God of the people of the Book, declares through His prophet Isaiah: "1 The oracle concerning Egypt: Behold, the LORD is riding on a swift cloud and is about to come to Egypt; The idols of Egypt will tremble at His presence, and the heart of the Egyptians will melt within them...23 In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrians will come into Egypt and the Egyptians into Assyria, and the Egyptians will worship with the Assyrians. 24 In that day Israel will be the third party with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing in the midst of the earth, 25 whom the LORD of hosts has blessed, saying, "Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance." (Isaiah 19:1-4,18-25) This prophecy is speaking of the End-Times when the Antichrist ("a cruel master, and a mighty king will rule over them") comes to power and subjugates Egypt under his oppressive reign. However, God will send them a Savior and He will deliver Egypt from the Antichrist. The Book makes it clear that this Savior is Jesus the Messiah who is called Isa in the Qur'an and whom Christian Arabs call Yasu... Related posts:

(February 13, 2011) In the movie Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and his Egyptian friend Sallah are discussing the Nazis digging for the Ark of the Covenant at Tanis in Egypt. In a reference to the way the evil Nazis were treating the Egyptians Sallah says, "It's as if the Pharaohs have returned". The recent and dramatic mass demonstrations and protests occurring in Egypt indicate that the modern Egyptians felt the same way about their leader, President Hosni Mubarak. The people did not have freedom of assembly (gatherings of more than five people required governmental sanction), freedom of speech, and reportedly nearly half of the population lived on two dollars a day. One 65 year old Egyptian man declared after Mubarak's resignation, “The nightmare is over!” After thirty years of ruling and after eighteen days of protests President Mubarak resigned on February 11, 2011. The Egyptian army, which is respected by the people, will guide Egypt through this period of transition. In the past Western governments and some Arab governments have looked to dictators to oppressively rule their Arab countries in order to maintain stability and keep Muslim extremists from taking over. When the secular and dictatorial shah of Iran was overthrown in 1979, Muslim fundamentalists took over with the equally and religiously oppressive Ayatollah Khomeini as their new leader. Some are concerned that a similar scenario could occur in Egypt with the Muslim Brotherhood attempting to ascend to power. If that situation did arise then Egypt's 32 year peace treaty with Israel would be in peril... Related posts:

(August 12, 2010) In the 1989 Civil War film Glory there is a poignant moment towards the end of the movie. The Union black troops are in a formation of readiness to charge up the parapet of a Confederate fort in what will be a futile attack and lead to their slaughter. The Colonel is addressing them for the last time before the battle. He finally points to the soldier holding the unit's American flag and asks, "If this man should fall, who will lift the flag and carry on?" One of the other soldiers steps forward and declares "I will." On my website evenatthedoors.com I wrote an article in 2007 called The Decline and Fall of America. In that article I wrote that I believed something had to happen to America in order for Ezekiel's prophesied End-Times invasion of Israel by an alliance of countries surrounding it to take place. As long as America is Israel's protector I don't think any coaliton of nations would dare attack it. Therefore, I believe that something has to happen where America is either militarily, politically, or economically unable or unwilling to protect Israel. President Obama's administration has taken a decidedly different attitude towards Israel than all his predecessors since 1948. Apart from any political change for the worse in American-Israeli relations the economic outlook for America may preclude the U.S. from being able to financially support a military defense of Israel. This last scenario raises a question that may have prophetic ramifications: "If America should fall who will pick up the banner and carry on?"... Related posts:

(May 15, 2010) Three months ago I wrote an article for my website titled Islam and End-Times Prophecy and also posted it to this blog. This article is a synopsis of Walid Shoebat's 2008 book God’s War on Terror: Islam, Prophecy and the Bible. In this book Mr. Shoebat shows how Islam could fulfill many of the prophetic descriptions the Bible reveals of End-Times events. I believe he makes many compelling points to support his position on Islam's possible role in fulfilling God's apocalyptic plans. Today I read a headline on the Drudge Report that illustrates precisely what Mr. Shoebat wrote in his book two years ago. In his book God's War on Terror Mr. Shoebat compares the Islamic messiah called the Mahdi with the description of the biblical Antichrist. He points out that both the Antichrist and the Mahdi will seek to change God's laws (Daniel 7:25). In this case the Mahdi will institute Shari'a Law as much as he can. In another parallel, according to Islamic scholars, the Mahdi will occupy the Temple Mount and reign from there (Matthew 24:15; II Thessalonians 2:4). Mr. Shoebat makes forty-three comparisons overall between the Antichrist and Islam's future ruler, the Mahdi... Related posts:

(March 1, 2010) In the wake of the earthquakes in Haiti and Chile, MSNBC has an article on the increase of earthquakes around the world. ((Big quake question: Are they getting worse?) The author writes, "One scientist, however, says that relative to the time period from the mid-1970s to the mid-1990s, Earth has been more active over the past 15 years or so." He quotes a geophysicist as saying, "We still do not know the reason for this yet. Could simply be the natural temporal variation of the stress field in the earth's lithosphere." (The lithosphere is the outer solid part of the Earth.)" Jesus gave signs to His disciples to look for when the end is near, "3 As He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, 'Tell us, when will this be, and what will be the sign of Your coming and of the close of the age?' 4 And Jesus answered them, 'Take heed that no one leads you astray. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and they will lead many astray. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not alarmed; for this must take place, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places: 8 all this is but the beginning of the labor pains." (Matthew 24:3-8) Leading into the End-Times Jesus said that false religious leders, wars, famines, and earthquakes would increase in various places. He likened these events to labor pains which means they will become increasingly more painful and occur closer and closer together. (February 22, 2010) Is Islam going to be the one-world religion spoken of in End-Times prophecy? Is the Mahdi or Guided One (an Islamic messianic figure) the Antichrist? Is the Mark of the Beast a badge of submission to Allah? Is Jesus Christ returning to earth to wage war against the Islamic nations who treated the Jews harshly? Walid Shoebat thinks so. Walid Shoebat declares that most prophecy students are incorrect in their interpretation of many End-Times prophecies. He believes that Western cultural influences have led to a misunderstanding of the Eastern culturally written Bible. He says that he is a former Muslim terrorist born in Bethlehem who converted to Christianity after reading the Bible in order to convince his Christian wife that her beliefs were in error. He also states that he lived in Jericho during the 1967 Six Day War. He wrote a unique and quite illuminating book on End-Times prophecy titled God's War on Terror: Islam, Prophecy and the Bible. Why There will never be peace in Israel until the Messiah returns

I believe that the rebirth of the modern nation of Israel is a fulfillment of a prophecy that God gave to one of His prophets in the Old Testament. In the Book of Amos God declared, "13 "Behold, the days are coming," says the LORD, "when the plowman shall overtake the reaper and the treader of grapes him who sows the seed; the mountains shall drip sweet wine, and all the hills shall flow with it. 14 I will restore the fortunes of my people Israel, and they shall rebuild the ruined cities and inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards and drink their wine, and they shall make gardens and eat their fruit. 15 I will plant them upon their land, and they shall never again be plucked up out of the land which I have given them," says the LORD your God." (Amos 9:13-15) God says that in the future the Jews will return to the physical land of Israel and the will never be plucked out or removed from the land ever again. The Jews were removed from the land after the 132-135 A.D. war against the Roman Empire. For the next 1800 years they were dispersed throughout the world. Related posts:

(April 14, 2008) According to Fox News, a prominent Hamas cleric gave a sermon that declared "The capital of the Catholics, or the Crusader capital" would soon be conquered by Islam. (Hamas Cleric Predicts 'Rome Will Be Conquered by Islam') He goes on to say that Islam will sweep across Europe followed by the Americas.

Whether or not this cleric is correct is up to God's plans for the End-Times. It is interesting that the book of Revelation speaks of something called "Mystery Babylon" and describes it as a whore who rides upon a scarlet covered beast with seven heads and ten horns... Related posts:
