America: “Curiouser and curiouser”

(April 10, 2010) A friend of mine recently forwarded an email to me titled "Budget in Wonderland" written by Bill Miller who is the Senior Vice President and National Political Director of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The email stated, "'Curiouser and curiouser,' Alice exclaimed after falling into Wonderland and suddenly growing to nine feet tall. Forgive us if we feel the same way about President Obama's latest budget proposal. Because only in Wonderland would record spending increases equal a smaller deficit. Yet that's what the White House would have us believe. Back up the rabbit hole we go to find the truth about the budget: tax hikes and deficits as far as the eye can see."

American Economic Policy

I know of no Federal agency that has ever decreased government spending. I believe the Healthcare legislation will severely hurt the U.S. economy over the next few years. Taxes will have to increase in order to pay for millions of uninsured citizens and non-citizens. The problem is that Healthcare is not the end of President Obama's political agenda. He wants Congress to pass environmental legislation which will impose new financial burdens on American companies and thereby the American people (Who Pays for Cap and Trade?). He wants to follow that with Immigration reform which will further burden the average American taxpayer. I cannot see a positive economic result from any of these legislative acts. To the contrary I believe that America will dissolve into economic ruin. POLL: 14% of Americans believe President Obama is the Antichrist! He’s not but he is treading on dangerous ground

(March 26, 2010) According to a recent Harris poll 14% of the American people think that President Barack Obama may be the Antichrist! Strictly speaking, an American President would not meet the requirement of either the Eastern interpretation or the Western interpretation of End-Times biblical prophecy which declares where the Antichrist rises to power. According to Eastern commentators like Walid Shoebat the Antichrist will come from the Turkey/Syria/Arabia region of the world. Western commentators declare that the Antichrist will come to power in Europe. The Bible does not allow for America to play a direct role in Biblical prophecy and thus an American president could not be the Antichrist. However, I believe President Obama is treading on dangerous ground with recent displays of his attitude toward opposition to his Healthcare legislation and toward Israel. In previous posts I have made it clear that the United States of America has to become either militarily, economically, or politically unwilling or unable to protect Israel at some point in the future. Without American protection Israel would be susceptible to Ezekiel's prophesied invasion by the nations surrounding it. Recent events would seem to indicate that this is closer to happening then at any other time in America's history... Related posts:

CNBC article agrees that America will decline

(March 25, 2010) Yesterday the CNBC website ran a news story titled Health Care Law Signals US Empire Decline? The opening paragraph of this article states, "The passage of the health care law shows that the US empire is declining because it illustrates the fact that people expect the state to take care of them, David Murrin, the co-founder of Emergent Asset Management hedge fund manager, told CNBC." The article goes on to say, "In their expansionary phase, empires force people to go out, seek risks and fend for themselves, Murrin said, reminding of the dismantling of the British empire after the war, when the National Health Service, which ensures universal health coverage in Britain, was created. This (empire decline) is actually a dead-set course that societies get into and it will happen very quickly I'm afraid, he told 'Squawk Box Europe.' 'As you start to build a system it becomes cohesive because of its success… the fractures in the American system I think are more apparent than ever,' Murrin added." (March 1, 2010) In the wake of the earthquakes in Haiti and Chile, MSNBC has an article on the increase of earthquakes around the world. ((Big quake question: Are they getting worse?) The author writes, "One scientist, however, says that relative to the time period from the mid-1970s to the mid-1990s, Earth has been more active over the past 15 years or so." He quotes a geophysicist as saying, "We still do not know the reason for this yet. Could simply be the natural temporal variation of the stress field in the earth's lithosphere." (The lithosphere is the outer solid part of the Earth.)" Jesus gave signs to His disciples to look for when the end is near, "3 As He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, 'Tell us, when will this be, and what will be the sign of Your coming and of the close of the age?' 4 And Jesus answered them, 'Take heed that no one leads you astray. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and they will lead many astray. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not alarmed; for this must take place, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places: 8 all this is but the beginning of the labor pains." (Matthew 24:3-8) Leading into the End-Times Jesus said that false religious leders, wars, famines, and earthquakes would increase in various places. He likened these events to labor pains which means they will become increasingly more painful and occur closer and closer together. (February 28, 2010) Speaking in Poland on the 65th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp, Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu said that modern Israel fulfills the "Dry Bones" prophecy of Ezekiel ch. 37. (Netanyahu: Ezekiel 37 Fulfilled in Israel) He declared, "Armed with the Jewish spirit, the justice of man, and the vision of the prophets, we sprouted new branches and grew deep roots. Dry bones became covered with flesh, a spirit filled them, and they lived and stood on their own feet, as Ezekiel prophesied: 'Then He said to me, 'Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They indeed say, 'Our bones are dry, our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off!' Therefore prophesy and say to them, thus says the Lord God, 'Behold, O My people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves and bring you into the land of Israel. Islam and End-Times Prophecy

(February 22, 2010) Is Islam going to be the one-world religion spoken of in End-Times prophecy? Is the Mahdi or Guided One (an Islamic messianic figure) the Antichrist? Is the Mark of the Beast a badge of submission to Allah? Is Jesus Christ returning to earth to wage war against the Islamic nations who treated the Jews harshly? Walid Shoebat thinks so. Walid Shoebat declares that most prophecy students are incorrect in their interpretation of many End-Times prophecies. He believes that Western cultural influences have led to a misunderstanding of the Eastern culturally written Bible. He says that he is a former Muslim terrorist born in Bethlehem who converted to Christianity after reading the Bible in order to convince his Christian wife that her beliefs were in error. He also states that he lived in Jericho during the 1967 Six Day War. He wrote a unique and quite illuminating book on End-Times prophecy titled God's War on Terror: Islam, Prophecy and the Bible. Is America turning its back on Israel?

(June 3, 2009) I wrote an article on my website titled "The Coming Invasion of Israel" which describes a prophecy in Ezekiel. This prophecy declares that during the last days an invasion of Israel is going to take place by the countries surrounding it. The problem is that America has defended Israel since its rebirth in 1948. For this prophecy to be fulfilled I believe that America has to become economically or militarily impotent or be unwilling to protect Israel for whatever reason. World economic fears and the decline of the United States

(November 20, 2008) The economies of the world seem to be on the verge of collapse and it is causing fear around the world. (Fear stalks the world’s economies) According to this article, "Market analysts said panic had set in among traders. 'Markets are utterly unhinged,' said Bill O’Donnell, a strategist at UBS. 'One problem is that financial institutions are powerless to take the other side of panic trades.'" (November 9, 2008) Someone recently asked me if Barack Obama would become a player in End-Times events. My overriding concern for whoever becomes President of the United States is what is God's will for this country. The Bible makes it clear that it is God who raises up rulers and causes them to fall: "20 Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his: 21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding."
