I also see that you are running for mayor of Los Angeles in 2013 and that you have written other articles from a pro-Israel position. The fact is, as you point out, Hamas (along with Hezbollah and other terrorist organizations) have stated they will <em>never</em> recognize the state of Israel. The reason for this is the Islamic concepts of Dar al-Islam and Dar al-Harb. As long as the Israelis live on land which the Islamic extremists believe Allah gave to them, the terrorists can never stop trying to retake that land, otherwise it is a dishonor and disgrace to Allah. This means there will never be true peace in Israel until Yeshua haMashiach comes to set up His kingdom on earth as the prophecies of the Tanakh declare. That is if there was a true peace, you take the Israeli Technology and know how, add to it the Arab labor and natural resources – and you have an economic prosperity beyond your widest dreams. Nothing will change, nothing can change until the Palestinian people recognize this reality; their greatest enemy is not Israel. The greatest threat to the Palestinian people is, and always has been, their own leaders. And Israel cannot negotiate with Hamas, anymore than Chamberlain could negotiate with Herr Hitler.
