Is the way being prepared for the “kings of the east”?

China's army

China's army

(March 26, 2009)  China disputed a new U.S. report that assessed its increasing military power “as a ‘gross distortion’ and interference in its affairs.” (China criticizes new U.S. report on its military)  The most revealing statement the report made was “that China is developing longer-range capabilities that could have an effect beyond the Asia-Pacific region.”  In the Book of Revelation there are three sets of seven judgments that occur during the seven-year Tribulation Period that is coming upon the whole world. Concerning this time Jesus declared, “21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.” (Matthew 24:21-22). The first set is the opening of the seven seals, the second is the sounding of the seven trumpets, and the third set is the pouring out of the seven bowls (vials in the King James English). In the second set of judgments, John the servant of God to whom God revealed the future, describes the sounding of the sixth trumpet, “13 And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, 14 Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates. 15 And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. 16 And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them. 17 And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone. 18 By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths. 19 For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.” (Revelation 9:13-19)  John hears the command for the four angels who are apparently guarding the Euphrates River to prepare to  release an army of 200 million soldiers so that they can cross the river and slay a third of the humans still living on the earth at that time. Some scholars believe this means that the Euphrates River will dry up so that a large army can pass through it. John describes what seems to be an army of 200 million supernatural beings on horses. However, he was using his First Century experiences to describe something that happens in at least the 21st Century so the language he uses could be referring to a modern mechanized army. The actual crossing of the river doesn’t take place until the sixth bowl judgment (which is the second to the last judgment of the earth during the Tribulation Period) as John states, “12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared. 13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty…16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.” (Revelation 16:12-14,16) Who are these “kings of the east” (literally in the original Greek: “kings of the rising [sun]“)? Among some prophecy students the belief is that these kings are leaders of an Asian confederation. It is obvious that China alone could field a 200 million soldier army. This army will cross the Euphrates River on its way to Israel where it will fight against the armies of the Antichrist on the plains of Israel in a final battle known as Armageddon. This war will be interrupted by the second coming of Jesus Christ who will destroy the armies of the world and set up His kingdom on earth (Revelation ch.19). As I said at the beginning, the U.S. report on the strength of the Chinese military made a revealing statement when it said that “China is developing longer-range capabilities that could have an effect beyond the Asia-Pacific region.”

This is a load of crap what you are saying. Youare obviously a anti-chinese racist who is sputing racist propraganda since the 1700s. The distance between China and Israel is over 6000 miles can you imagine driving 200 million men over hills and valleys in tanks and jeeps to fight Israel or the west. Why bother sweat it. Any major world war in the future will not be conventional but nuclear. This will be done from a backroom. Israel has more enemies that hate her right next door to her Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Palestine, Iraq, Iran, etc., they can muster up 200 million in no time. What does China want from Israel ?not 1 orange I can tell you. You prophesy is outdated and a load of crap.

    • I agree with you that the scenario you described as an alternative to my theory is plausible. I also agree that a future world war may involve nuclear weapons. But I also believe that the Antichrist is going to perform a major power move in the Middle East. If China thought he was going to monopolize the oil reserves in that area of the world they would probably take it as a threat against their own interests. The Council on Foreign Relations’ website describes China’s oil situation as the following: “As global demand for energy continues to rise, major players like the United States, European Union (EU), and Japan are facing a new competitor in the race to secure long-term energy supplies: China. As its economy booms, China is intent on getting the resources needed to sustain its rapid growth, and is taking its quest to lock down sources of oil and other necessary raw materials across the globe. As part of this effort, China has turned to Africa, an oil-producing source whose risks and challenges have often caused it to be overlooked economically. Some reports describe a race between China and the United States to secure the continent’s oil supplies. Others note that while Chinese interests in Africa have surged, Western states still make the vast majority of investments in Africa and remain highly influential…Africa holds a fraction of the world’s proven oil reserves—9 percent compared to the Middle East’s nearly 62 percent—but industry analysts believe it could hold significant undiscovered reserves. As a result, China is seeking to increase its oil imports from the continent.” (China, Africa, and Oil) This article states that China’s current interest in acquiring oil rests with the continent of Africa. However, it is possible that with their expanding economy and population China will try to acquire oil wherever it is located. As this article states, the Middle East contains 62 percent of the world’s oil reserves. If the Antichrist bases his government in the Middle East would China not be correct in assuming that this would be a threat to their national interests? In 2004 the Middle East Forum’s website stated the following: “To complicate the matter, America is not the only country with a growing demand for foreign oil. China and India, hosting two of the largest and fastest growing economies, are also experiencing a steep rise in their demand for transportation fuel. China, for example, will likely enter into Middle Eastern politics in order to meet this demand. It will need to enhance its diplomatic relations in the region and possibly increase its weapons sales to the Muslim world’s oil moguls. Foreshadowing this potential development is the Pakistani nuclear bomb, which was built by the Chinese and financed by the Saudis.” (Ending America’s Dependence on Middle East Oil) Xin Ma, a PhD researcher at the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy, University of Dundee, UK, wrote the following in 2008: “The ever growing petroleum-related interaction between China, the fastest growing oil consumer, and the Middle East as the top oil producing region, has been one of the most dynamic trends in the international petroleum sector. China has been actively promoting energy ties with the Middle East, driven not only by the security of supply concerns of the government, but also by the commercial interests of its national oil companies (NOCs). China’s active strategy in the region is also welcomed by the oil producing countries in the interest of secure demand in the fastest growing market. These concerns are further escalated due to the sluggish petroleum demand from matured markets in the US and Western Europe, and an increasing competition from the new African and Eurasian suppliers. China’s energy strategy in the region seems to be effective so far, illustrated by the recent progress in the high profile North Pars Gas project and Yadavaran oil project in Iran. However, there are still many pitfalls and obstacles that remain to be solved for the Sino-Middle East cooperation to develop smoothly.” (China’s Energy Strategy In The Middle East) As I stated above, if the Antichrist tried to monopolize the oil reserves in the Middle East do you not think it is possible that China would do more than show a passing interest in the events that were then taking place in that region? Whether or not my belief is “outdated and a load of crap” remains to be seen. China is making unprecedented gains in the arena of global power and therefore in my opinion is capable of fulfilling the prophecy of the “kings of the east”. But I agree with you that it is also possible that a confederation of the countries you listed could fulfill this prophecy. The Bible prophesies that a final battle involving the armies of the whole earth will take place in Israel: “13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty…16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.” (Revelation 16:13-14,16) This battle would include China unless something happens to their nation before then.

seems to make tony’s reply a stupid one doesnt it

    • Very interesting article you linked to. It does refute Tony’s assertion that the Chinese have no interest in the Middle East. I did say that his scenario concerning other Middle Eastern countries fulfilling this prophecy was also feasible. Former Muslim and now Christian author Walid Shoebat also believes that this invasion will consist of the Islamic nations of the Middle East. In his book “God’s War on Terror” he states that Muslims could form a 200 million man army also. He points out that previous Chrisitan leaders throughout history believed that the Islamic conquests of much of the Middle East fulfilled many prophecies. However, this particular prophecy has yet to be fulfilled and how it occurs is open to speculation.
