You perceptively bring up sin in this context. The Bible states and history illustrates that humans are inherently sinful. Thus, humans by themselves will never be able to unite to create the Utopia that you and everyone else desires. As to the rest of your post concerning the Messiah and prophecy, I would like to ask you a question. Let's say in the 1950s I wrote a book in which I declared that at the turn of the 21st Century Islam would be on the ascendancy in global affairs. Furthermore that Islamic extremists would use terrorism as a means of achieving their ends and that this would lead to an attack on America which would result in the loss of thousands of American lives. Would you not believe that I was a prophet and truth-teller and somebody to be listened to? That is exactly what God did in the Bible. He gave hundreds of prophecies that describe the birth of the Messiah, the nature of His life, His death, and His resurrection all written hundreds of years before He came to earth. Jesus fulfilled these prophecies that spoke of a suffering Messiah.

He also gave other prophecies concerning the nation of Israel and the second coming of the triumphant Messiah. He stated in the Book of Ezekiel and the Book of Amos that in the latter days or End-Times He would return the Jews to the land of Israel nevermore to be removed from it. In 135 A.D. the last Jewish Revolt was put down by the Roman Empire and the Jews were scattered around the world (which was also prophesied of in the Bible). Over the next eighteen centuries the Jews should have assimilated and intermarried in all of the cultures where they were dispersed and disappeared as a people. Yet throughout all the persecutions and pogroms they survived as a people. Even Mark Twain wrote an article in the late 1800s asking how is this possible. Yet in 1948 after six million Jews had been exterminated by the Nazis the modern Jewish nation of Israel was born. Maybe you can't see how miraculous this event was (and I mean <em>miraculous</em> after all the Jews had been through for 1800 years) but it couldn't be clearer to me.

You say that I should follow my heart but again the Bible accurately declares, <em><font color="#990000">"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?"</font></em> (Jeremiah 17:9) We all sin and fall short of the glory of God. Thus, you are correct in ascribing the spiritual as the answer to our individual peace. I do take issue with you saying it should be in an "earthly way" because we live in a sinful and fallen world. The spiritual peace you speak of can only be obtained by the heavenly Holy Spirit indwelling in our hearts and thereby giving us peace with God. But because we still dwell in our sinful bodies the struggle to love others and ourselves will be an ongoing battle until we die or Jesus returns.

You all need to stop waiting for a messiah to come and start living here now. To sin means to miss the mark. Bascially, you are missing the mark with all these peace talks and talks about a future age when a prophet returns, etc. I was raised Jewish and I don't believe in the Jewish state of israel because I believe more strongly that religion is not the way. Peace can never be found by politicians because they are all greedy and all opinionated people, none have awakened to find the true love that exists in either one's heart becuase if they did, they would all believe that the whole political process was all nonsense, so that is why I believe it to be a failure, has nothing to do with a messiah returning, because there is no such thing, you have been misled. I believe the way of god was meant to follow your heart and look inside yourself and you will find peace. I believe the way of god is not a religious way but a spiritual earthly way, where all humans unite to take care of their planet and stop destroying it with all this pollution and war. Please give us a break with all this politics and religion. Look in the mirror for gods sake!
